Gold again for our outstanding work with Cornwall’s wildlife

14 November 2016:Park Awards

We had a fantastic evening at The Headland Hotel earlier this month, when we were presented with not one, but two awards for our outstanding contribution to preserving Cornwall’s beautiful wildlife.

Having donned our ball gowns and bow-ties, we enjoyed a great evening celebrating the array of fantastic tourism related businesses in the county, whilst tucking into a delicious three-course meal at The Headland Hotel. Having been nominated for the prestigious and hotly contested ‘Wildlife Friendly Tourism Business’ category, we were delighted to be awarded Gold, and presented with a beautiful trophy by the night’s special guest Sir Tim Rice.

It’s a real accolade and recognition of over a quarter of a century’s hard work by our team – most recently our gardener, Alison, who once worked at the Eden Project. We recognise that the beauty of the county, so wonderfully showcased in the BBC’s most recent dramatisation of Poldark, is what attracts so many tourists to the county and are passionate about preserving it.

We’re delighted to have won the David Bellamy Gold Award for Conservation every year since 1999 and are always striving to do more for the environment in which we are lucky enough to live and work. As well as our Gold award for Wildlife Friendly Tourism Business we also received a special Wildlife Partner Certificate from the Cornwall Wildlife Trust, who we were delighted to have raised £2,500 for in the past year, as part of our customer gifting scheme.
