| Swift Burgundy Mother Ivey's Bay Holiday Park is set in an idyllic location, nestling on the North Cornish coast, overlooking Mother Ivey's Bay with Trevose Head beyond, providing a wonderful backdrop for truly spectacular sunsets. |
For many, owning their own private holiday home on Mother Ivey's Bay Holiday Park, near Padstow, is a dream. For some, the dream has already come true. There are two ways to do this.
You can either buy a new caravan from us, or a second hand caravan from an existing owner. In both cases, all payments are made to us, and you should never pay anyone else directly.
We keep a register of prospective purchasers who are interested in buying on the park.
I want to buy a new caravan. What happens?
Providing a pitch is available, we can supply your choice of new caravan. You would receive a written quotation, and the price would include delivery and siting. However, existing caravan owners are normally given the option to replace their caravan at the end of its life, so vacant pitches are unusual.
What would it cost to buy an existing caravan?
The cost of an existing caravan depends on a number of points, including age, condition, and position on the Park.
What security do I have?
We offer you a formal agreement approved by the British Holiday and Home Parks Association (BH&HPA) and the National Consumer Council (NCC). This agreement sets out all of our obligations to each other.
How long may I keep my caravan at Mother Ivey's?
Caravans may remain at Mother Ivey's until they are ten years old, although this period is shortened if the caravan is sub-let.
When can I use my caravan?
The Park is open from Easter (or April 1st if earlier) to the end of October.
What are the annual costs?
If you are interested in buying a caravan, please apply to Mother Ivey's Bay for a detailed breakdown of annual costs on the park.
Can I sub-let my caravan?
Yes, but the time period is restricted to July and August. Our involvement is limited to registering your customers and issuing keys, for a small fee. You are responsible for taking bookings and for cleaning your caravan between lets.
Do you have any rules?
Yes, there is a set of Park Rules for everyone owning a caravan on the Park and a set of By-Laws for everyone using the Park. These are issued with the formal agreement of the B.H. & H.P.A and are periodically updated.
What about maintenance?
You are responsible for the maintenance of your caravan. Please ask when you need some work done: we can do a lot of things in-house, or alternatively we can arrange for outside contractors.
How do I sell my caravan?
All sales of privately owned caravans are documented by us - this includes sales to family or friends. You simply notify us in writing of your wish to sell, and we reply with a sales report, including the recommended sale price. The seller pays our 15% commission charge plus VAT.
